The General Election is November 8, 2016 and we need you to become a poll worker. In addition to performing their civic duty, poll workers also get paid. Poll workers earn at least $175, depending on the position, in addition to a $20 stipend for attending mandatory poll worker in-person training and $25 for each online course passed. Solano 360: Building the Solano County Fair of the future

The project is dubbed Solano360 in recognition that the future of this community asset requires a vision beyond the five days of the annual Solano County Fair. Keep informed on the ongoing efforts and help plan the future of the Solano County Fairgrounds.

Development of the 5-Year Regional Strategic Plan - Homelessness

Two day-long issue summits will be held at:

Thursday, December 1st at the Joseph A. Nelson Community Center, 611 Village Drive, Suisun City

Monday, December 5th at the John F. Kennedy Library, 505 Santa Clara Street, Vallejo

The topics covered on both days will be:
1. Creative solutions to increase affordable housing
2. Improving System Navigation
3. Serving Sub Populations

Content will be the same at each summit, so participants can select the one that works best for them.

Free child support modification drop-in sessions at Fairfield library
SOLANO COUNTY – The Department of Child Support Services (DCSS) is offering free child support one-on-one drop-in sessions for the public in October, November and December at the Fairfield Civic Center Library, 1150 Kentucky Street, Fairfield.

Registrar to reissue some ballots due to printing error
SOLANO COUNTY – Due to a printing error, the Solano County Registrar of Voters is reissuing approximately 4,700 vote by mail ballots and 30,000 sample ballots to poll voters registered voters in Fairfield early next week.

Mediterranean Fruit Fly detected in Vacaville
SOLANO COUNTY / VACAVILLE, CALIFORNIA – The Solano County Agricultural Commissioner, the County of Solano, and the City of Vacaville, in cooperation with the California Department of Food and Agriculture and the United States Department of Agriculture, announced that an extensive survey has begun in response to the detection of a single Mediterranean fruit fly (Medfly) within the City of Vacaville.
