Solano County exhibit wins Gold Award

July 16, 2013

The Solano County exhibit at the 2013 California State Fair earned a Gold Award, marking the 13th consecutive year the county has earned the honor.

The main feature of the exhibit is a fuselage of a C-5 Galaxy aircraft in which visitors can walk through and explore the history of Travis Air Force Base.  Surrounding the aircraft are a variety of vistas that showcase the county's agricultural, tourism and other amenities that make Solano County a great place to live, learn, work and play.

Still to be determined are the People’s Choice Awards that are determined by fairgoers and announced at the conclusion of the fair, which runs through Sunday, July 28.

The 2013 exhibit brings the County’s award tally for its exhibits up to 66 major awards over the past 14 years.
