Deputy Daryl Snedeker
Public Information Officer
I have resided in Solano County since 1969. I grew up in a military family and my Father was stationed at Travis AFB when he retired and we settled here in Fairfield. I have three brothers and three sisters whom all still reside in Solano County with the exception of my oldest brother who is retired from the United States Air Force and now lives in England.
I am a widowed father with two young adult daughters. My eldest daughter is married and has one daughter, (my Granddaughter) whom I adore. My younger daughter graduated from high school a couple of years ago. Both my daughters currently reside and work within Solano County. I cherish my family and spend much of my time away from the Sheriff’s Office with them. We enjoy all types of outdoors activities together.
I began my career with the Solano County Sheriff’s Office in 1997 as a Reserve Deputy Sheriff. In October of 2000 I was hired as a full time Deputy Sheriff and completed the field training program shortly thereafter.
While employed at the Sheriff’s Office I have worked a variety of assignments including but not limited to: court services, patrol, marine patrol, transportation, and relief Public Information Officer. I was assigned to a lateral assignment on the Community Oriented Policing and Problem Solving (COPPS) unit from 2005 to 2009. During that time I participated in the organizing and facilitating of Neighborhood Watch meetings. I also worked closely with numerous allied agencies both within and outside of Solano County. I was chosen as the Solano County Sheriff’s Office’s representative on the multi-jurisdictional Sexual Assault Felony Enforcement (SAFE) team. This team was assembled to combat the number of convicted sexual offenders who were not current on their required yearly registration. The SAFE team included personnel from 11 Sheriff’s Offices from various Northern California counties.
I take a great deal of pride in the work I do. I embrace every opportunity I have to make a difference in people’s lives and in the community I serve. I am constantly striving to build positive relationships between my Law Enforcement family and the public in which we serve. In an effort to become a better at my job, I continually strive to become the best that I can be in all aspects of my life and to treat all people with dignity and respect at all times. I truly enjoy my job and the people I work with and for.
