Public Safety Division


Captain Don Bevins has been with The Solano County Sheriff’s Office since 1998.  He came to the Sheriff’s Office as a Sergeant after serving 7 years with the Solano County Marshal’s Office.  Throughout his career Don has worked court services, civil, warrant service, patrol, defensive tactics and firearms instructor, administrative services, Chief Deputy Coroner and Custody Division Commander.  Don currently oversees the Public Safety Division.

Don obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Management from the University Phoenix and a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) in Strategic Leadership from the Dominican University of California.  Don currently holds several state certifications that include a POST Management Certificate.  Don is a graduate of the Sherman Block Supervisory Leadership Institute and the FBI National Academy, 210th Session. In 1997, Don was named, Peace Officer of the Year, by the Vallejo Elks Lodge.
