Captain Gary Faulkner began his career with the Solano County Sheriff’s Office in 1994, when he was hired as a deputy sheriff. As a deputy, Gary worked a variety of assignments including Patrol, Court Services, Investigations, and as the department’s Public Information Officer. Gary was then promoted to the rank of sergeant in 2002. As a sergeant, Gary supervised deputies working Patrol, Court Services, Community Policing, Narcotics, and the Coroner’s Office. In 2008, Gary was promoted to the rank of lieutenant and served as the Chief Deputy Coroner until November 2012.  During this same time frame, Gary also worked as the Public Information Officer and Personnel and Training Manager for the Sheriff’s Office.  Gary was also instrumental in the development of the Sheriff’s Volunteer Program (S.A.V.E.), which began in 2010.  Since the program’s beginning, volunteers have exceeded the 10,000 hour mark in hours of service given to the Solano County Sheriff’s Office. 

Gary has earned an Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice Corrections.  He also possesses a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice Management.  Gary serves as the Custody Division Commander for the Sheriff’s Office.
