Chaplain Gary Hill

Chaplain Gary Hill is a native of Philadelphia, Pa and originally came to Solano County by way of the USAF stationed at Travis Air Force Base in September 1971. He has been married to Cecelia Hill for 28 years and they have three children and four grandchildren.

Gary was a youth minister at St. Stephens CME from 1983 until 1985, and has pastored Living Waters Christian Fellowship in Fairfield since 1988. Gary has ministered voluntarily in the Solano County Juvenile Hall and the Solano County Jail since 1986. He was the 1992 recipient of the Martin Luther King Jr. Community Service award.

Chaplain Hill makes every effort to provide compassionate care to the inmates and their families. He meets the spiritual needs of the inmates through counseling, teaching, and providing religious materials. In times of crisis he is often activley involved in bringing the apropriate support to the persons affected. He also trains religious volunteers and serves as a liason between clergy and the Sheriff's Office.
