Poll Worker Online Application

Join Our Team!

Solano County is seeking poll workers to serve in future elections.  Poll workers provide an invaluable service to the community and have an opportunity to participate first-hand in the electoral process.

Requirements

Poll workers must be:
- Willing to attend a mandatory training session prior to each election
- Able to arrange for transportation to and from training and to and from the polling place on Election Day
- Available to work the entire day on Election Day from 6 a.m. to approximately 9:30 p.m.

Training:

Mandatory training provides all the knowledge and skills needed to do the job.  Training focuses on the setup and operation of the polling place and voting equipment, how to process and assist voters and the basic functions of the workers.

NEW -- Electronic Roster Clerks:

We have developed an electronic roster (eRoster) that records who votes in real time.  This replaces a very slow, manual process after the election.  We’re looking for poll workers who like working with computers and new technology.  If this sounds like you, check the “I’m interested in being an electronic roster clerk” box on the online application.  When you click the “Submit” button on the application, you’ll be presented with a short survey.

Compensation:

Poll workers are paid a $20 stipend for attending the training class and $100 for working on Election Day.  You must work the entire election in order to be paid for training!  A bonus of $15 may be earned based on team performance.
