Vital Statistics

Vital Statistics is a unit within the Public Health Division of Solano County Health and Social Services Department and its main function is to process demographic data on births, deaths, and fetal deaths within Solano County.  The Unit is responsible for developing, analyzing, and distributing public health data derived from records of vital events.  

Vital Statistics is also responsible for processing requests intended to amend or correct a vital record.  If there is incorrect or missing information on a vital record, you may request an amendment.  The Vital Statistics staff can assist in preparing or requesting amendments.  Please email us at or call (707) 784-8060 for further assistance.

How to Purchase Birth Certificates in Solano County

Birth certificate fee is $30.00 for each certificate.

Once the hospital forwards the birth certificate information to Solano Public Health Vital Statistics, parents may contact the Solano County Vital Statistics office to purchase certified copies. Certified copies are available to purchase within two to three weeks after the newborn’s birth date. You can print an application to request birth certificates:

We do not accept personal checks. If you prefer mailing your application, please mail a money order/cashier check with the correct fees along with your notarized application to:

Expedited Birth Record: the standard birth certificate fee is $30.00 plus an additional fee of $20.00 for the expedited service (the $20 fee is applied to each certificate requested). The expedited service will provide a certified copy of a birth record within 24 business hours. The expedited birth certificate can be provided once the birth record information is received from the hospital.
