Smile In Style Participants
With the support of our Solano County Board of Supervisors and school district administrators, teachers and school nurses, over 8,700 students from preschool through sixth grade throughout Solano County, participated in Smile In Style in fiscal year 2010-11. Each classroom received two, 45-minute visits.

We also provide school site dental sealant clinics at schools where a large percentage of students receive free or subsidized lunches. In the 2010-11 school year, 562 students received 2,110 sealants on their molars to prevent tooth decay.
Who Is Eligible for Services?
Students in selected Solano County schools, from kindergarten through sixth grade, are eligible for services when space in the program is available.
Since 1980, children throughout the county have received oral health instruction about plaque control, (tooth brushing and flossing), fluoride, nutrition, obesity prevention, injury prevention, tobacco prevention and the need for regular dental care.

Additionally, in FY 10-11, Smile In Style provided annual dental screenings for over 1,900 third graders in Solano County public schools.
Volunteers Needed!
Several members of the Napa-Solano Dental Society and Dental Hygiene Component volunteer as classroom educators and provide professional services at the school site sealant clinics. If you would like to volunteer, please call 707 784-8611.
