Life Insurance
The County of Solano provides a basic Life and AD&D insurance plan through ReliaStar with Accidental Death and Dismemberment coverage for all eligible employees. The coverage amount varies by bargaining unit.

Employee Assistance Program

The County provides an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) through MHN for employees and their eligible dependents. The EAP offers confidential, professional counseling services in a variety of areas such as, legal matters, marriage/family counseling, substance abuse, stress relief, and child care referrals. The EAP provides up to 5 counseling sessions per incident for employee and/or eligible dependents per fiscal year.

Flexible Spending Accounts
The County offers two separate Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA). The accounts allow employees to set aside money, on a pre-tax basis via payroll deductions, to pay for medical, dental, vision, or dependent care expenses. These programs are regulated by the IRS (IRC 125) and run on a calendar year basis. Open enrollments are held annually.

Dependent Care Reimbursement Account
Employees may set aside up to $5,000 pre-tax to pay for qualified childcare or dependent care expenses that are necessary for the employee and/or spouse to continue working.
Health Care Reimbursement Account
The Health Care Reimbursement Account allows up to $2,500 to be set aside pre-tax to pay for out-of-pocket expenses that are not covered or reimbursed by any other insurance plan. Covered expenses include but are not limited to, insurance co-pays, deductibles, dental or vision expenses, pharmacy co-pays, and other similar out-of-pocket expenses.
