Every family court has a family law facilitator to provide information on child support, family law, guardianship, help parents obtain and complete court forms, and other legal assistance to self-represented persons.  Services are FREE and are NOT connected with DCSS.  The Solano Legal Access Center is the family law facilitator for Solano County. Information and help on getting a restraining order, custody and visitation can also be found at this office.

Community Resources
Arrears Estimator
A free calculator program used for the calculation of arrears payments.  Input the amount of arrears owed (outstanding principal), the interest owed (oustanding interest), payments made today, monthly payment (or amount you want to pay), and the agreement date.  The program computes the total number of months to pay off the principal, interest and total debt owed with a breakdown from month to month.

California Department of Child Support Services (DCSS)
Provides Child Support program information on a state-wide basis.

Child Support Directors Association of California (CSDA)
Provides Child Support program and policy based fact sheets on important topics that impact the child support community.

E-Update
DCSS is pleased to announce the launch of E-Update, an online newsletter for employers and payroll professionals.  E-Update was developed as tool to communicate important child support wage withholding processing and program news to employers and payroll professionals.  E-Update gives employers an avenue to ask questions and share their feedback. Initially, E-Update will be sent quarterly, and on an as-needed basis.

Employment Development Department (EDD)
Provides information for job seekers, unemployment and disability.

Military Personnel
Provides information for Active Duty Military Personnel and how it relates to child support.

Paternity Opportunity Program (POP)
Linked to the California DCSS website. This site provides information for the Declaration of Paternity which is a legal form that, when signed by both parents, legally establishes a man as a child's father without having to go to court.

State Disbursement Unit (SDU)
Federal law that requires states have a single unit responsible for collecting and processing child support payments. California has met this federal requirement by implementing the State Disbursement Unit (SDU).
